Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Utilization of ICT, such as e-Learning systems or class video distributions, is rapidly spreading into school education for more effective teaching. However, methods of effectiveness evaluation of ICT-applied teaching have not been established yet. Presently two conventional methods are used. One can be called "time-difference method" and the other is "discriminative method". The former divides a semester in half and compares the effectiveness of the first term and that of the ICT-applied second term. This takes a whole semester and the result may not be fed back to the teaching of the class. The latter divides a class in half and compares the effectiveness by evaluating the ICT-applied group and the other group separately. But this should not to be used in school because it would be unfair to the students. The proposed method by GPAS measures and utilizes the differences in the degree of ICT-utilization among individual students, and it may be called "individual difference method". The idea is to conceal factors resulting from the potentialities of students and from the course characteristics by using GPA, and classify the students into some groups such as "persistent group", "average group" and "negligent group" according to their perseverance (the distance of each point from GP-NS line in the plane of accumulated GPA and normalized score). The differences in the average of ICT-utilization and perseverance are statistically tested among the groups. This method has been tried on the author's class, and its effectiveness is discussed in this paper.
