Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the recent information age, we have a big world, so called, "the Internet" or "the cyber space", which has become an important medium for international communication year by year. In order to improve students' communication ability, the authors have been teaching cross-cultural communication and systematizing its method by using e-mail, message board and web pages on the Internet. In the class, our students communicate with foreign students by using haiku (traditional Japanese short poems) and haiga (Chinese ink paintings). Students increase their ability to express their intentions and feelings through short poems and computer graohics. In the near future, the authors want to build the haiga database system and the searching system for haiga on the web.
