Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this research, we discuss an effective lesson method for Karate. We interviewed four leading players of full-contact karate. From the results of the interview, we found that the traditional basic practice and movement practice by which students learn elemental forms play very important role in karate lessons. Namely, the students can improve stability and balance of their bodies that are essential for progress in karate by the traditional practices. We conducted experiments to investigate relationships between the stability and balance of body and degree of progress in karate. As a result we found that there is strong correlation between them. Additionally, we discuss why the practices are effective for improving the stability and balance of body based on biophysical analyses of motions in the traditional practices.
