Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper introduces the concept and implementation of the web-based CSCL system, UNCHIKU, that grows through social interactions among leamers. On the UNCHIKU system, users could participate in collaborative construction of learning materials by posting their questions and comments as hyperlinks on the Web contents. Since the mechanism to browse the materials based on users or communication types is provided, knowledge sharing and collaborative learning become possible among the members. This activity also promotes participating members' cognitive appropriation to the learning community through the awareness of the social relationships among members of the community. These characteristics may serves as meta-cognition in the context of collaborative learning on the web-based CSCL system.
