Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Early finding and treatment for developmental disabilities are of great importance. However, most caregivers feel resistance to go to clinical centers. On the other hand, it is difficult to inform caregivers their children's accurate condition via remote counseling, such as telephone counseling. In this study, we examined efficacies and problems of a counseling system on the Internet environment for the caregivers. The principal goal of this system was to give advices to caregivers on early stage of counseling. We developed a Common Gateway Interface (CGI), that runs on standard WWW browsers. It consists of 1) checklists for assessment of child development and developmental disabilities, and 2) guidelines for treatments. Results of trials for two years suggested it's efficacy. Moreover, we discussed problems in the future, I.e., cooperation with local clinical centers.
