Abstract(in English) As the performance of blade servers increases, wider and lower latency networks are needed for the interconnection between blades. We have developed a prototype of the blade server system with 10-gigabit Ethernet interconnection named XION(Xgigabit Interconnected Organic Nodes). This system is composed of 16 Server Blades with advanced autonomous functions. The interconnections between Server Blades are performed using the wide-band and non-blocking switch through the backplane. In this paper, we describe the system architecture and implementation of XION, focusing on 10-gigabit Ethernet interconnection.
