Abstract(in English) Recently, Electronic-Toll Collection (ETC) system as an example of Intelligent-Transport System (ITS) has been in the operation in Japan. After the ordinance of the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications in April 2001, Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC) systems can be used for other purposes including ETC in the highways. Therefore, it has been planned to install DSRC beacon on the roadside in order to develop a Smart highway system. In this report, a DSRC beacon is set up inside a tunnel in two positions and propagation characteristics of tunnel is in absence of traffic.
