Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The electromagnetic noise caused by an electrostatic discharge (ESD) is a major source of malfunction to high-tech equipment. Although the IEC specifies a current waveform from ESD guns measured with the current detector (Pellegrini calibration target) being recommended in IEC61000-4-2, the ESD guns do not always guarantee that the IEC specified current waveform can be injected to various devices under test. It is therefore essential to establish a useful computer simulation tool for such the ESD test. In this paper, with our previously developed FDTD model of an ESD gun, we show the FDTD simulation of a contact discharge to a microstrip line on a printed circuit board. The feasibility of the ESD-gun model is also demonstarated experimentally.
