Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As access network equipment installed outdoors has increased in performance and decreased in power, the likelihood of lightning surges induced in the access system has also increased. Power unit malfunctions occur frequently due to lightning surge current induced on the AC mains line. We observed the lightning surge current and the waveform characteristics, whose half time values are longer than existing recommendations, and the occurrence probability, which is 30 times greater than on telecommunication lines. Based on the observation results, this paper proposes a new lightning surge immunity test for access network systems.
