Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) FIR filter bank system and digital transformer multiplexer are used in sub-band coding and multiplexed communication of high quality audio and high definition image. There, it is important to minimize the error accompanying with approximation produced in these systems with respect to suitable measure of approximation error. In this paper, we present the systematic method to obtain filters in transmitting side which minimize a certain measure of error under the condition that filters in receiving (user) side are given. It seems possible to convert the optimum filter bank into transmultiplexer if the input and the output of the filter bank are equal to each other approximately. In the following discussion, we re-consider the mutual relation between these two systems and discuss the problem whether it is possible to convert from filter bank system to transmultiplexer. With respect to fundamental 2-path 2-tapps digital transmultiplexer, we will present consideration for conversion from FIR filter bank to digital transformer multiplexer.
