Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a placement algorithm that cooperatively optimizes the wire-length and area, all on the sequence-pair (SP). Wire-length minimization is reflected in partial clustering which extracts clusters by merging modules one by one according to the ratio-connectivity. Modules not merged in any cluster are free-modules which are merged in area minimizing stage. Area minimization is pursued by simulated annealing on SP in which solution transformations are applied with three stages hierarchical SPs. The important feature is that in every solution on the way, each cluster satisfies the transitive channel-adjacency. In experiments, characteristic behaviors were clearly observed that free-modules creep in and out of clusters, adjusting the niches and humps for area minimization with little affect to the wire-length.
