Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For performance evaluation of linear block codes, we can evaluate by union bounds based on the weight distribution. This approach is applicable for convolutional codes by a terminating. Therefore, if the input-output weight distribution can be derived, the error performance of concatenated codes can be evaluated. In this paper, first, the results of input-output weight-enumerating function of terminated convolutional codes are shown. Next, for terminated 2- and 4-state convolutional codes, it is shown that the input-output weight distribution can be expressed as function of the number of information symbol. Furthermore, the application for serial concatenated convolutional codes is considered.
