Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Information of user's position is one of important factors for ubiquitous environments. In ubiquitous environments, a method that detects user's position at wide range indoors is required. There are several methods, such as GPS, Infrared rays, and ultrasound, for position detection. GPS that receives signal from several satellites is unavailable indoors or underground. Also, communication area of both ultrasound and infrared rays is short although they have very high accuracy in short range. Therefore, this paper introduces a position detection method with Active RFID for wide range indoors. We had experiment in real shopping mall in order to make sure that the method is available in real situation. The paper also describes the experiment.
