A Study on Decentralized Topology Control for Unstructured Overlay Networks

Abstract(in English) Traffic controls using overlay networks, which are logical networks over IP-layer, are begun to be studied. The control paradigm is expected to enable end-to-end Quality of Service and global load-balancing through multiple ISPs (Internet Service Providers). Topology controls for overlay networks are important for such QoS and load-balancing, because the topology is directly related to routes of end-to-end communications in the networks. This paper proposes a decentralized topology control scheme for the purpose of low-delay end-to-end communications through multiple ISPs. And the scheme is evaluated by using simulation.
