Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a new technique of burst assembly in optical burst switching which is one of switching techniques for IP over WDM, we propose a round-robin burst assembly. In the proposed method, there are multiple buffers where IP packets are stored depending on their destination nodes, and bursts are assembled at the buffers in round-robin fashion. Moreover, with our proposed method, bursts are transmitted at fixed intervals. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, we construct a loss model with deterministic and Poisson arrivals, and derive burst loss probability and burst throughput with queueing theory. In numerical examples, we show the effectiveness of our analysis and the proposed method comparing our results with Erlang loss formula.
