Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless Local Area Networks are currently being spread over diverse places such as hotels, airports as well as office and home. In consequently, they actually provide convenient and important ways to access the Internet. On the other hand, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) communication on the Internet has attracted strong attention. Therefore, P2P over wireless LAN will be very common soon, which includes real time communication such as VoIP. We here focus on the issue arising in that context, in which wireless stations can send a large amount of traffic on the uplink. We first clarify the issue, and propose, as a solution to the issue, ways of enabling efficient and fair transmission over both downlink and uplink. The proposed schemes will be evaluated through simulations, and be shown to allow P2P communication and conventional data download to share the wireless LAN access resources effectively.
