A Proposal and It's Implementation of Multicast Video on-Demand Using Contents Routing System

Abstract(in English) Multicast is one of the major methods used to decrease the cost of data transfer over the Internet. In existing multicast technologies, however, users must access to one multicast stream synchronously. This increases the difficulty of implementing multicast on-demand applications such as VoD system, which are usually accessed by multiply users at variant time. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new multicast method that allows accessing one multicast stream asynchronously. An original content routing system has been developed to mediate between users and servers. User requests will be queued in the system so that asynchronous multicast access becomes possible.
