Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Conventional planning methodologies for optical networks aim at optimum arrangement of light-paths to minimize initial network cost under the condition that the number of demanded light-paths is given in advance. However, the number of demanded light-paths greatly varies according to light-path prices. Thus, a new planning methodology is necessary to optimize the light-path prices and to maximize profit obtained from the optical networks. In this paper, a new planning methodology for survivable optical networks is proposed. This methodology is based on economic theory for the competitive market involving plural kinds of commodities. By using this methodology, we can derive the optimum light-path prices maximizing the obtained profit. From a numerical example, it is clarified that the obtained profit can be improve d by providing users with various light-paths and by pricing those light-paths appropriately according to their reliability.
