A Study on Adaptive Data Center System

Abstract(in English) The application of information networks and information technologies is spreading to many activities of enterprises and administrative bodies. The data center services which provide outsourcing of designing, constructing, and operating information processing systems are getting more important. But the conventional data centers are needed to design, construct, and operate for each enterprises and administrative bodies independently, so the initial and operation costs are too high for small medium-sized enterprises and local goverments to apply. And conventionally, computing and network resources in data center is provided based on estimated peak-utilization, and the average utilization is often under 10% while quality of service is deteriorated in peak hours. We proposed new methods for provisioning data center services economically and rapidly by means of sharing virtualized data center appliances with multiple bodies, and method s for dynamic resource allocation adaptive to quality of services based on service level agreements contracted in advance.
