| 抄録(和) | Mobile IPv6において生じるパケットロスを低減するための技術として、様々なLocalized mobility management protocol(LMM)が提案されている。本稿ではそのうち特に、Hierarchical Mobile IPv6のMAPにバッファリング機能を付加した拡張型Hierarchical Mobile IPv6(HMIP-B)、および、IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force)において標準化の進むFast Handoverをとりあげ、ハンドオフ特性の比較評価を行った。なおHMIP-Bは、IPベース移動通信システムにおいて重要であると考えられるリンク技術との独立性を持ったLMMとして我々が提案したものである。計算機シミュレーションの結果によれば、UDP通信においてはHMIP-Bの方がより小さな伝送遅延値と低いパケットロス率を示し、TCP通信においてもHMIP-Bの方がより高いスループットを示すことがわかった。 |
| 抄録(英) | In order to reduce the packet loss incurred by Mobile IPv6, some localized mobility management protocols (LMMs) have been proposed. In this paper, we select two representative LMMs and compare their performance. The first is an extension of Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMLP-B), in the operation of which a mobility anchor point buffers packets for a mobile node during its handoff. We previously proposed HMIP-B as a LMM that has wide applicability for L2 technologies as well as the original MIP, which is important to future IP based mobile communications networks. The other LMM is Fast Handover, which has been continuously discussed in the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force). The computer simulation results show that HMIP-B achieves a shorter delay and fewer lost packets in UDP communications, and that it achieves higher throughput in TCP communications than does EMIP. |
