| 抄録(和) | PCの家庭への普及、情報家電の登場により、ホームネットワークが注目されている。またマンションや学校でも、構内ネットワークを構築しようという動きがある。我々は、従来の通信事業者による一元的なネットワーク構築に対して、ホームやマンションや学校のような特定のエリア内ネットワーク(エリアコミュニティ)を単位とするネットワーク構築方法を検討している。エリアコミュニティにおいては、その目的に応じたシステムが構築される。従ってエリアコミュニティ毎で、使用されるプロトコルや利用できるサービス(映像配信、双方向映像通信等)が異なる場合がある。そこで我々は、エリアコミュニティ毎にエリアリソースマネージャ(ARM)を導入し、ARMが担当エリアコミュニティ内のリソース(ネットワーク、メディア変換サーバ等)を管理する方法を提案する。本方法では、ARMは、他のARMと連携してユーザが要求したサービスに必要なリソースを選定・検索・確保する。ARM間の通信には、個々のエリアコミュニティ内プロトコル間をまたがってリソースを発見・相互利用するための共通インタフェースを検討する。本方法を利用することによって、ユーザは相手の端末の機能を知らなくても双方向映像通信サービスが利用できるようになり、また自分の属するエリアコミュニティ内のリソースでは実現できないサービスも、他のエリアコミュニティから借りることにより実現できるようになる。個々のエリアコミュニティが連携し、インフラ的に機能しながら効率的なブロードバンドサービスの展開を図ることが可能になると考えられる。 |
| 抄録(英) | Home Network attracts attention by the spread of PCs through homes and the appearance of information appliances. And Premises Networks tend to be constructed in some condominiums and schools. We are studying the method of network construction composed by particular area networks, as opposed to the method of unified network construction by carriers. We call a particular area network for an Area Community (AC). In ACs, network systems are constructed for the purpose of each AC. Therefore, protocols and available services (such as contents delivery, visual communication and so on) in each AC may differ. In this paper, we propose the method that the Area Resource Manager (ARM) installed in each AC manages resources (such as network, media conversion server and so on) in each AC. Each ARM selects, searches and reserves the required resources to realize the service requested by users, cooperating with other ARMs. About the communication among ARMs, We study the common program interfaces for the discovery of resources and the share of resources among ACs. By using this method, users can use visual communication services without knowing the functions of destination customer premises equipments, and even if ACs don't have the resources necessary for the services requested by users, ACs can be realized services by borrowing resources from other ACs. We consider that the spread of broadband services can be realized efficiently with ACs functioning as an infrastructure by cooperating with one another. |
