Abstract(in English) We consider traffic of units that are randomly produced in a bounded area on a plane. This area has a main line and some local lines that join the main line. Our aim is to evaluate congestion along the main line. Namely, we compute the mean waiting times at junctions to the main line. We assume the following situation. Units are originated according to a Poisson process in the bounded area. They firstly run on local line until they meet the junctions. Then, those units immediately join the main line if there are spaces. Otherwise they wait until the spaces are available. We assume that the number of the junctions are finite. We formulate this model as a discrete time model, restricting the locations of the junctions arropriately. We compute the stationary distribution of the number of waiting units, provided a stability condition. A limit of the mean waiting time is also compute as the number of local lines are increased. This limit turns out to have a simple expression, which can be used to approximate the mean waiting time of the finite junction model.
