Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to analyze how the structure of human society is reflected in Web links, we introduce link analysis with metadata of social relationships that links represent. First we propose an ontology that defines class hierarchy of social relationship represented by links on researchers' Web sites. It is developed by examining actual links and finding out social relationships, and provides a basis of metadata description. Next we report the findings as the result of annotating metadata on 200 researchers' Web sites and then extracting and analyzing the social network of the links. Analyzing this example shows that 1) the structure of the social network of researchers' Web links is build up of interconnected subgraphs corresponding to research areas, and that 2) the links that indicate a particular kind of social relationship form a subgraph within the network.
