Abstract(in English) | We have fabricated the new layered structure, named as 'U-mag', for perpendicular magnetic recording media, in terms of a stacked films including very thin (2nm) ferromagnetic intermediate layer and lattice spacing controlled layers. The formed medium having a 100-nm softmagnetic underlayer (SUL) shows higher SNR than the medium with a conventional Ru underlayer. The double Co intermediate layer U-mag gave a considerable improvement of SNR compared to the single Co layer U-mag. |
