Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have already reported that introducing tapered main pole, tapered return path on trailing side, and side shield yokes to the cusp field SPT head in order to obtain large recording field, large recording field gradient and small stray field to the adjacent tracks as well as recording field distribution robust for skew. In this report, the recording field distributions are derived for various dimensions of the tapered main pole, tapered return path and side shield yokes. The eddy current analysis shows that this SPT head closely follows the high frequency driving up to 2 GHz.
