Abstract(in English) Detection and recognition technique of road signs from images are important for intelligent transport systems. We already presented a detection technique of road signs. It uses two techniques, one is RGB subtraction technique for color detection and the other is a region restriction technique for searching road signs. We also proposed a recognition technique of road signs by tracing outline vectors. Though outline detection from images is important on image processing area, most of well known techniques detect only edge points. We used a detection method that detects a rounding vector on an edge point. Outline vectors of a road sign image will be detected by tracing and connecting these vectors. Finally, recognition results are achieved by applying matching test between detected outline vectors and templates' vectors. In this paper, three improvements for this vector based recognition technique are proposed. One is about vector detection method adn remains are about vector position representation.
