Abstract(in English) In recent years, biometrics has been arising as a technique for user identification. Biometrics employs user's biological characteristics, such as fingerprint, face, and DNA, as ID. In order to apply this technology safely, it is necessary to guarantee the certainty of biometrics data. Digital-watermarking technology has been proposed for this purpose. This technology is used basically for embedding copyright information imperceptibly into digital contents, in order to protect the contents from malicious use. In this study, a robust digital watermarking technique is proposed for the protection of fingerprint image.
