Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied a method of reconstruction of building side surfaces using two line scan cameras synchronized by a rotary encoder on a vehicle. We solved the problem of image distortions caused by vibration of the vehicle. But stereo matching is a difficult problem because of glasses, texture pattern, occlusion and so on. We propose a robust stereo matching method. which consists of the following five steps:(1) Calculating cross-correlation of two images, (2) plotting the value in 3D space which consist of X and Y image axes and a depth axis, (3) segmenting the 3D space, (4) voting a depth of surface in each segmentation space using the cross-correlation and (5) merging surfaces with the same depth. Experimentmental results using outdoor scenes including glasses, texture pattern and occlusion confirm effectiveness of this method.
