Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose the color image indexing using the mathcing pursuits and its application to image similarity measure for content-based image retrieval. In order to apply the mathcing pursuits to color images, the mathcing pursuits is extended to approximate for multivariate signals. In similarity computation between two images, we have to compute the simirality from the decomposition result of the mathcing pursuits. We propose the computation algorithm that compute the squared norm between two appro x imation images with computational costs that is proportional to the number of the atoms. Finalry, we demonstrate the image query, by the proposd index and the similarity measure and also show the comparison between the image retrieval by the wavelet transform that is proposed by Jacobs.
