Effects of Human Hand and Human Body on the Radiation Characteristics for Multiple Antenna Systems Placed on the Metallic Frame of Liquid Crystal Display

Abstract(in English) Liquid crystal displays are important output device not only for the ordinary personal computers, but also for the next generation wireless terminals in which multiple antennas will be equipped for higher transmission performance. In response to this, a unique configuration of a multiple slot antenna system for the metallic frame of liquid crystal display has been proposed in order to improve the radiation characteristics of the antenna. In this paper, the effects of human hand for the radiation characteristics of the multiple antennas have been analyzed numerically in terms of the input impedance and the radiation efficiency of the antenna system. Also, several measurement results will be shown in order to confirm the validity of the simulation results with FDTD.
