Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Accuracy of GPS loaded on the satellite is several tens of meters, but locations are given only discretely at the sampling times. In order to get the satellite location and velocity at arbitrarily specified time, we have developed a method in which the orbital elements are determined by minimizing the square deviation between the satellite locations measured by GPS and those calculated by SGP4, and then the optimized orbital elements are used to interpolate the satellite location as well as the velocity. This method had been applied to actual data obtained from WEOS (Whale Ecology Observation Satellite), and the mean distance between the points due to GPS and those due to SPG4 had been reduced as small as 50m.
