Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Observations and watchings for the water level of rivers and dam sinks, weather conditions, tectonic movements and dangerous areas in which ground collapse occurred are carried out regularly. The data from observation points are gathered by terrestrial networks such as telephone line, exclusive lines and telemeter radio systems. Latent requirements for installing the observation points where the terrestrial networks cannot be provided, more inexpensive networks for data gathering seems to exist. We propose a satellite communications system for data gathering from a lot of observation points that are scattered over ultra-wide area. Actual system configuration is shown by taking into account of requirements for data gathering system. In addition, basic investigation results on channel assignment schemes and radio link analysis are presented for realization of proposed system.
