Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report presents a detection result of man-made targets using correlation coefficient in the circular polarization basis. Among several polarimetric indices, we focus our attention to the correlation coefficient because it is one of essential tools not only for polarimetric SAR image analysis but also for statistical image analysis. Expansion of the ensemble average of in terms of the HV component showed the correlation coefficient contains an important phase information which has been neglected for POLSAR image analysis. Using the phase as well as the amplitude information, it was possible to detect man-made targets especially resided in non-orthogonal to radar illuminations, which has not been achieved ever before. The result was shown using Pi-SAR data around Niigata University.
