Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In land mobile satellite communications, a major problem is the frequent blockage of the satellite link by shadowing. Shadowing is one of the key factor determining the availability of land mobile satellite communications. Therefore, it is very important to evaluate the satellite visibility to supply the land mobile satellite communication system to practical use. In this paper, we propose a method by which the satellite visibility can be predicted by using three dimensional map data. To verify the prediction accuracy of the proposed method, the prediction results and the measurement results were compared. As a result, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed.
