All-Optical Multi-Channel Simultaneous Up-Conversion for Microwave Photonics System

Abstract(in English) We have proposed all-optical signal up-conversion using difference frequency generation in a QPM-LN. Signal bit rate and coding-format independent up-conversion, the availability of the sub-THz LO frequency, and multi-channel simultaneous conversion are characteristic features of this technique. Error-free transmission for 20-GHz optical microwave system was experimentally confirmed with three 1-Gbit/s data streams. This result indicates the feasibility of all-optical signal up-conversion using a QPM-LN in WDM microwave and nun-wave fiber-optic broadband system.
