Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We demonstrate compact widely tunable modelocked fiber lasers and wavelength converters that are based on highly nonlinear and dispersive photonic crystal fibers (PCF). Using PCF we have achieved an order of magnitude reduction in the length of resonator that produce picosecond pulses with repetition rates of 10-40 GHz. Furthermore, means for conversion of wavelength of 10-GHz-rate pulses over ~100 nm has been shown.
