Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) generates optical sidebands with self-oscillated operation. Conventional OEO, however, cannot generate optical sideband whose frequency is over than its oscillation frequency. In this paper, we propose a novel OEO consisting of a harmonic modulator. The OEO oscillates at the frequency within the bandwidth of RF feedback circuit, but generates harmonic components of the oscillation frequency. Therefore, millimeter-wave modulated lightwave is effectively generated in low-cost manner. A reciprocating optical modulator (ROM) is incorporated in the OEO as a harmonic modulator. By single-mode self-oscillating operation of the OEO. millimetre-wave-band radio-on-fibre signal is generated.
