Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Microstrip-to-Waveguide transition that structure has microstrip probe inserted from the E-plane side of the waveguide, is used well. This transition has a simple structure and good performance. But this structure has some problems as a transition is thick, or It's characteristics are degraded by the misalignment between waveguide and back-short. We propose a thin-type microstrip-to-waveguide transition using electromagnetic band gap replaced a one-quarter wavelength back-short. This paper has been verified the usefulness of electromagnetic band gap in experiments and Simulations. Further, we present one of the methods getting broadband transition.
