Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A quasi-zenith satellite constellation with orbit intersections around hand-over points is convenient for satellite communications services to a terminal with a narrow-beam tracking antenna. However, the constellation has satellite collision hazards at the intersection. Collision avoidance is one of the most important restrictions on the satellite constellation design and orbit keeping operations. Two parameters, that is, the longitudinal separation of crossing satellites at an arbitrary time around the crossing and the deviation of the satellite altitude from the nominal value when the satellite crosses the nominal latitude of the intersection, are useful parameters for collision avoidance.
