Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Optical survey of geostationary satellites is seasonally taken in Communications Research Laboratory. The observed images are released to the laboratory Internet site. In order to estimate orbital elements of a geostationary satellite, we must conduct the optical observation on two nights. Since two-night observation produces a large number of image data, the analysis requires a great deal of time. Based on the assumption that the radius of the geostationary orbit is 42164 km, an image briefing the geostationary satellite position can be created. The present paper reports the geostationary satellite positions estimated from the images in 2001 to 2003.
