Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In next generation mobile systems where voice and data traffic must be handled effectively, high rate data calls may excessively degrade voice transmission quality. In this paper, we propose the adaptive spreading factor control method for CDMA cellular downlink. With the method, a data call is dynamically assigned a spreading code with an appropriate spreading factor based on downlink quality reported by a mobile terminal. The method achieves low voice packet dropping probability while accommodating high rate data calls.
