Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) system, differing plural signals are transmitted by using multiple transmit antennas at the transmitter. At the receiver, in order to separate transmitting signals using signal separation algorithm, it is required that receiver equipped with plural antennas. However, in mobile terminal, mounting of plural antennas is difficult. And so, in this study, we propose MIMO realization using time diversity system. In this proposed system, first, the transmitting signals are transmitted from each transmit antenna. Next, the same signals are transmitted again from each transmit antenna. Each transmission time slot is separated long enough so that there is very little fading correlation in time domain. This process is repeated K times, and through using time diversity, MIMO channel is realized. Consequently, if the number of received antennas is reduced to 1/K using K time diversity, the reception performances of conventional MIMO (N received antennas) and MIMO using time diversity system (N'= N/K received antennas) are same. By using computer simulation, we can confirm that the BER performances of conventional MIMO and MIMO realization system are generally the same.
