Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless LAN systems with 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands such as IEEE802.11a and IEEE802.11g employs multiple modulation that supports modulation modes from 6Mbit/s to 54Mbit/s. Moreover, to cope with both high transmission efficiency and reliability, the rate adaptation technique is also introduced where optimum modulation mode is adaptively and dynamically selected on every transmission attempt. On the other hand, to increase transmission speed and frequency utilization efficiency, MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technique is also studied to introduce the wireless LAN systems. For the rate adaptation control on systems with MIMO, varying instantaneous PER (Packet Error Rate ) should be estimated accurately from the MIMO matrix. In this paper, we introduced various evaluation functions for PER estimation and report the examined the relationship between the evaluation function and PER by computer simulation
