Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report proposes a reduced complexity detection scheme that combines Zero-Forcing (ZF) and K-best algorithms for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing with Space Division Multiplexing (OFDM/SDM) systems. Although Maximum Likelihood Detection (MLD) is known as the optimal signal detection algorithm for spatially multiplexed signals, it suffers from exponential complexity against the number of transmit antennas. In order to reduce the complexity from exponential to proportional order, the K-best algorithm is applied. In addition, performance degradation caused by the K-best algorithm is compensated by the front-end signal processing of the ZF algorithm, which requires negligible complexity compared to the MLD algorithm. Computer simulation results for 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (16QAM) and 64QAM signals are also shown in this report. It is shown that the performance degradation from the MLD algorithm is suppressed to only about 1.5 dB at required packet error rate (PER) =10~2, when either 16QAM or 64QAM is applied and there are three transmit and three receive antennas.
