Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, 3D models come to be spread and used in various fields. And the necessity for reuse of 3D models which is in any database is increasing. Therefore, it is necessary to research the methods of similarity detection of 3D models such as to pick up the models similar to the query model that user search for. In this proposed method, we detected the similar models by putting the models into a pillar. Next, we calculate the distance from the grid on the pillar, and get the 2D images of each model. Then we compare these 2D images by using cross correlation. Compare to the methods that detect the model by using 3D topological method, it is able to detect the similar model speedy and easy, by using this simple method.
