Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The Wideband InterNetworking engineering test and Demonstration Satellite (WINDS) is planned to be launched in Japanese fiscal year 2005, and demonstrates high data rate communications experiment. Ka band Active Phased Array Antenna (APAA) is expected to be the antenna technology which can from scanning spot beam in the any place. In the mechanical antenna, the driving torque affects the satellite attitude, but in the APAA, the torque doesn't occur in the case of scanning spot beam. So, it is suitable for the Earth Observing Satellite requested for the high attitude control accuracy. This paper describes concept and outline of the WINDS system, and Ka band APAA on WINDS satellite.
