Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, there is growing interest in ad hoc mobile networks to satisfy short range communication demands like inter-car communication. Ad hoc networks are networks with decentralized control, consisting of mobile nodes equipped with a wireless transceiver. Key features of ad hoc networks are to establish communication without the aid of a central infrastructure. We are working on the project to develop key technologies for wireless ad hoc networks from physical layers to upper layers. We emphasize experimental studies and investigations of the effectiveness of directional antennas of mobile user terminals. This paper gives an overview and recent progress of the project.
