Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper is concerned with the diversity decoding scheme that is effectively combined with a space-diversity and an error correction. This scheme has been developed for the mobile reception of wideband OFDM signals under severe propagation environment such as non-frequency-selective fading. The feature of the scheme, assumed to be applied to the terrestrial digital TV broadcasting and the wideband wireless LAN, is in the iterative decoding for improving the performance. Though the Viterbi algorithm has been used so far for the decoding, its long decoding time would make it difficult to increase the number of the iterations. We considered, therefore, the adoption of M-algorithm, a simple decoding scheme, to be applied to the diversity decoding scheme. The paper describes the simulated results of the bit error rate performance of the proposed decoding scheme.
