Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper deals with the TCP/IP protocol over the geostationary satellite network. The satellite network assumed within this paper is unidirectional, broadband satellite data link with the very narrow-band surface lines such as ISDN BRI for the ACK/NAK packet responses. By using the typical TCP protocol over such a long and fat network link, we often find that the slow surface link causes the bottle neck for the highspeed TCP transmission even if we apply the Selective ACK options. In this paper, we propose a method for avoiding such congestion observed on the slow surface links. Both the simulation and the experimental results are presented in this paper.
