Abstract(in English) In mobile communication systems, the OFDM signal transmission severely suffers from both intersymbol interfer-ences (ISI) between the consecutive OFDM symbols, and inter-carrier interferences (ICI) among the sub-carriers, which are caused by the multi-path propagation with the delay time being larger than the guard interval (GI). This report proposes a new OFDM adaptive equalization method that can improve the transmission performance drastically by suppressing both ISI and ICI. The proposed equalizer performs the following three functions: (i) to suppress ICI by carrying out FFT during the plural OFDM symbol long interval including GI, (ii) to optimize the signal to noise ratio (SNR) by the minimum-mean-squared-error (MMSE) based linear filter, and (iii) to generate ISI replica by using the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) of the information bits supplied by a MAP decoder, so as to remove the ISI components in the decision-feedback equalization part. Computer simulations in accordance with the 5 GHz band wireless LAN standardization demonstrate that the proposed equalization method yields an excellent level of the performances under the channel condition with the delay time being larger than GI.
